Stage Visibility

I would have found it helpful to make Stages visible to certain tickets or a custom question asked during registration. At the moment all stages are visible to everyone and I couldn’t see anything in the knowledge base about this.

Thanks for suggesting this. We’ve shipped ticket-based stage restrictions now, so organisers can limit access to selected tickets while still keeping stages visible as upgrade prompts. You can read the changelog here: https://heysummit.userjot.com/updates/p/restrict-stages-to-s…

Thanks for the feature suggestion - i agree, this could be helpful. We’ll see if it receives any votes to gauge wider interest.

this would be an incredibly useful feature. for some reason I had assumed it was already available.

This is somewhat already in place in the sense that you can restrict individual talks to tickets, and by extension that somewhat carries over to stages. However, where it probably breaks down is if you have a combination of talks being broadcast on a single stage where some of those talks are linked to one ticket and some of those talks are linked to another ticket. This probably would warrant focus at some point in the future, but for the time being, we'll monitor to see if there's wider demand for granular control over stage permissions in this way. Thanks again for reaching out.

Thanks Ben. Understand your thinking and just to share why the current workaround is potentially cumbersome. We could sell a ticket for a two day event, That is streamed all on one stage. We could then have a whole group of talks have permissions set at once, as opposed to having to do that individually 20 or 30 times for each session.

You can actually already batch apply permissions in that way, by restricting tickets to a category - doing that then gives (or blocks) access to all talks within that category.

That would work for us! Thanks
