Works exactly as we hoped, and J.I.T perfect, thanks so much we are now adding additional extrenally hosted meetups. This is perfect. Appreciate it
AN awesome tweak would be to NOT open in new browser tab if its a local URL. WIll work happily with what we have though
Fantastic, so glad that's useful for you. And great idea if a relative url… we’ll roll that out in the next 15 minutes
Thanks that has worked. Things to note: only works with the type “schedule note” and “break” but not “time marker”. I also checked in translations and I cannot translate “schedule note” to meetups or similar. Is there ny way we could add that to translations? Or maybe add that as an additional option in Agenda Items (or allow users to add more types)? We can work with what we have got simply with clear naming of the items in any case.
Hey Andrew, great catch. We've just rolled out an update that resolves these issues. 1) Time markers can now also have dedicated pages or external links linked to them. 2) We've added translatable strings for the agenda item type labels (i.e., schedule note, agenda item, break, etc.) Note that we're deploying as we speak, and it may take 5-10 minutes to fully propagate across our servers.
Thanks again! Appreciated.
Thanks Andrew. Interesting scenario. I agree the current approach where it gives you the option of generating a talk page, albeit with restrictions, is probably going to create more problems than not given that this is not a broadcast style page, but an information one where you probably want a bit more control over things. Leave it with me. I'll see if we can roll out some improvements in this area next week.
Thanks Ben, an example of a landing page we created would be https://hub.emailexpert.org/zagreb An alternative workaround, if this is complex, might be to allow us to embed a link in the description field. We could then manually embed a hyperlink to the custom landing page and that could work.
@Andrew Bonar , Which event type did you choose for the hub?
We settled with ongoing series after a fair bit of testing, and preloaded before soft launch with a lot of video content for view on demand
Having the hub double as your on-demand video library makes sense. Do you keep new replays on their own event page? Or do you copy them over to the hub as well?
They all stay within that event. We shedule additional events and some are live streamed free, others you need to pay to view live streams. To be fair we are just launching our live stream next month. But you can register directly for those events from dedicated landing pages, but al registrations, video etc lives inside the hub. This means they can see all past registrations and tickets in the member area. Speakers only register once and update their profile for all events etc. It works for us.
I’m in the process of moving data of older events to the ongoing event and making things look logical. I believe it will work just fine. It’s a lot of fiddling, but it’s fun when things start coming together.
Hi Andrew. This has now been delivered. Please see the changelog below for further information. https://heysummit.userjot.com/updates/p/more-flexibility-for…
