Global Event Password

It would be nice to have the option to use a global event password as other platforms have. Essentially instead of sending magic link or user passwords, the option to send a global event or “talk” password post registration.

Hey Marlon, Thanks for reaching out. By default attendees will be sent a magic link when trying to log into an event. However, we do have the option to turn on password support at the event level. Once turned on, attendees will be issued a unique password, which they can then use to login with. You can turn this feature on by heading to Setup > Registration & Checkout Settings > Allow Attendee Passwords? Is that what you had in mind or were you thinking of a different scenario here?

Hi Ben, This would essentially be the same as “event code” which I’ve seen in other platforms where the organiser could set a password for all attenedees. Attendees after registering could input their email and use a universal password such as “Event2025” to login. This could save the attendee having to go back to their emails for the magiclink or potentially missing their talk trying to reset their password Additionally an alternative user experience we’ve used in the past is: Landing page → Input Event Code → Register Email → Broadcast page

Hi Marlon, thanks for the suggestion. While this is not typically recommended as it is inherently less secure, we recognize that this can be useful in some situations, so we've rolled out an update to enable this. You can read more in the changelog link below. https://heysummit.userjot.com/updates/p/simplified-attendee-…
