Talk/Speakers giveaways turnaround time

We’ve been using HeySummit for our annual online conference for 6 years, and one pain point that hasn’t changed is this: Having the talk/speaker giveaways not announced for 24 hours drains the energy from that initiative. It’s anticlimactic to have winner announcements just pop up in email a full day after the talk.

This year we were excited to see that we could have all the winners revealed at a date and time of our choosing, so we chose to have them revealed right at the beginning of our closing session/party. Yet there weren’t — they still just rolled out 24 hours after each talk, with attendees and speakers still getting emails, and leaving us with only a partial list of winners to announce at the time that we had told the conference that we would be announcing the list.

To that end, a few suggestions:

• Please, please, please work on a way for winners to be chosen faster. The ideal would be to announce it right at the end, before releasing the audience, so it can be celebrated live.

• Please review what’s going on with the setting that allows us to choose a date and time for the announcement, because it didn’t appear to change how that was handled on the back end.

• While you work on a faster notification, please adjust the language of that setting to make it clear that changing the date of announcements won’t expedite the turnaround time.
