HeySummit now lets you specify how much tax has been included in the ticket price. This is designed to help you provide greater transparency to your attendees during checkout, and to help ensure that you remain tax compliant in your geographical region.
To activate these new features, head to "Event Setup” > “Billing & Tax Settings”. In here you’ll see the option to specify that tax is included in your ticket prices, as well as a new field to specify the tax rate. Please note that this is a universal tax rate that will be applied to all tickets. We do not (yet) set different tax rates depending on where in the world your attendee is based. Please also bear in mind that it is assumed that the ticket prices you set are inclusive (not exclusive) of tax.
Once these new fields have been set, checkout summary (for attendees to see) will be updated to show the breakdown of the cost (pre tax, the tax amount and then the total amount including tax). In addition, we have updated the attendee purchase invoices to include this tax breakdown as well.
Finally, you can now export all of this information by heading to “Revenue” > “Ticket Sales” and pressing the Export button. The CSV exported will include a wider range of tax specific data per transaction, enabling better compliance and integration with your external accounting tools.
