Changelog

Follow new updates and improvements to HeySummit.

June 14th, 2026

Organizers can now add a custom, optional marketing opt-in checkbox to the registration form from Setup β†’ Legal & GDPR.

Use it to collect clear consent for newsletters, sponsor updates, or other event-specific mailing lists, with your own checkbox wording shown to attendees.

Attendee exports now include a dedicated Custom Marketing Opt-In column with Yes/No values, so you can filter opted-in registrants without guessing from ticket registration alone.

We’ve improved the setup flow for pre-recorded video and live streaming providers across HeySummit.

When you choose a provider, HeySummit now shows clearer instructions for finding the required video or stream ID, including an example provider URL with the ID highlighted.

You can also paste either the full provider URL or just the ID. Where the provider format is supported, HeySummit will extract the ID automatically.

This is available anywhere in HeySummit where you choose a video or streaming provider, including broadcast, replay, welcome video, and intro video setup.

New

Organisers can now choose whether speakers are allowed to manage the broadcast and replay details for their own talks from the Speaker Dashboard.

You will find the new controls in Setup > Speaker Settings. Broadcast and replay access can be enabled separately, so you can decide exactly how much of the talk setup speakers should be able to handle themselves.

When enabled, speakers can add the relevant video, stream, or replay provider details directly from their talk drawer. Organiser-only settings such as playback behaviour, speaker reminders, join URLs, webinar integrations, and chat embedding remain under organiser control.

June 12th, 2026

You can now create flexible feedback prompts for attendees and show them at the right moment: on a specific date, during a time window, for particular ticket holders, or after a talk has finished.

Prompts can collect yes/no answers, free-text responses, multiple choice selections, or ratings. Rating prompts include useful summaries such as average and median, so you can review feedback without exporting raw answers first.

You’ll find feedback prompts and results together in the event dashboard under Reporting > Feedback, with per-question response rates and detailed results in the side panel.

Audience Tools are now available from the floating toolbar in your event dashboard.

Use Audience Tools to create and manage polls for your lobby, stage, and broadcast rooms, so you can prepare audience participation before sessions start or make updates while your event is live.

You will find the new Audience Tools button in the bottom-right toolbar of the dashboard.

Attendees can now choose the language they want to use while viewing an event, instead of everyone being limited to the event’s default language.

The event language still acts as the default for attendees who do not choose their own language. When an attendee selects a different language, HeySummit uses that language for public-facing interface text across the attendee experience.

Event-specific translation overrides continue to apply only to the event’s configured base language, so organisers can safely keep those overrides without accidentally mixing them into other attendee-selected languages.

Important: this only affects translatable interface strings, such as menu items, buttons, labels, and other HeySummit UI text. It does not automatically translate event content entered by organisers, including talk titles, talk descriptions, speaker names, speaker bios, or category names.

June 11th, 2026

Organisers can now add a welcome video for attendees across event types, including courses and standard events.

The video can appear inline after checkout when attendees complete registration, and as a one-time modal when attendees next log in. Once an attendee has watched or dismissed it, HeySummit remembers that so it does not keep appearing.

You can choose the video provider, add a title and message to frame the video, and decide whether it should autoplay from Registration & Checkout Settings.

Improved

You can now upload custom font files directly in the Theme Editor and use them for your event site typography.

In addition to the existing Google Fonts list, the Body Font, Header Font, and Nav Link Font controls now include a Custom option for uploaded fonts. Supported file types are WOFF2, WOFF, TTF, and OTF.

This gives teams more control over event branding when their brand font is not available through Google Fonts.

Improved

You can now keep reusable speaker profiles in an account-level Speaker Library, then add saved speakers to new events without re-entering the same details each time.

From an event's Speakers page, the Add button now lets you create a fresh speaker, import speakers from CSV, or add one or more speakers from your library. When you add a library speaker to an event, HeySummit copies the profile details into a normal event speaker record, so you can still customize that speaker for the specific event.

You can also review and manage your saved speaker profiles from the account dashboard under Speaker Library.

Improved

We’ve added a new command palette to the event dashboard so you can get to the right place faster.

Open it from the new Search button in the dashboard header, or use Cmd+K / Ctrl+K from anywhere in the dashboard. You can search for core dashboard pages, settings areas, attendees, talks, speakers, sponsors, tickets, coupons, and more.

The search also looks inside settings forms, so if you’re looking for something specific like chat settings, domain settings, GDPR options, or promo banners, HeySummit can now point you to the right settings panel without manually hunting through the dashboard.
