Introducing the Event Lobby: Real-Time Networking for Your Entire Event

We’ve just launched one of our most anticipated features yet: the Event Lobby – a central space designed to supercharge attendee engagement and networking across your entire event. Think of it as “Slack for your event,” where attendees, speakers, and staff can interact beyond individual sessions and talks. Whether it’s sharing insights, connecting privately, or continuing conversations after a session ends, the Event Lobby is your new hub for live, ongoing community engagement.

What’s New

  • A Centralized Chat Experience

    Move beyond session-specific chat - now there’s a persistent, event-level lobby where your entire community can connect, regardless of what page they’re on.

  • Channels for Deeper Engagement

    Create topic-based rooms (channels) such as General, Introductions, or VIP Lounge. Control access by ticket type, user role, or custom criteria. Private channels are hidden from those without access.

  • Direct Messaging (DMs)

    Enable private 1:1 or group chats between attendees, speakers, and team members. Fully optional and off by default - you choose whether to turn it on.

  • Attendee Directory with Permission Controls

    Decide if attendees appear in a searchable directory. You can require opt-in during checkout or auto-enroll them via terms and conditions. Email addresses are never displayed.

  • Talk Discussions Extended

    Continue session chats even after a talk ends - now they live on inside the Event Lobby so conversations don’t have to stop when the stream does.

  • Moderation & Room Management

    Event organizers can edit, archive, or delete rooms, manage user access, and jump between rooms directly from the dashboard.

  • Custom Branding & Display

    The lobby automatically matches your event’s theme colors and logo. Attendees can personalize their profiles with display names and photos.

  • Available Now in Beta (Success Plan Only)

    The Event Lobby is currently available in beta for customers on the Success Plan. It’s off by default, so you’ll need to enable it per event via the dashboard settings.
